Incredible view of fire across the earth as viewed from space

Originally viewed on the Wired Science,this video uses a pair of earth monitoring satellites (Terra satellite, launched in 1999, and the Aqua satellite, launched in 2002), NASA has recorded the fires that have occurred across the earth over the past decade.

The data revealed:

  • The United States was home to only 2%of the world’s fires.
  • Africa, meanwhile, was the most fiery continent with 70% of the worlds blazes over the years.
