Watching earthquakes around the world. NOW!

I recently came across a website with a real time global seismic monitor map. It’s really interesting to see what levels of tectonic activity are happening around the world at any time. There are also links to a variety of useful resources for plate tectonics.

Click on the screenshot above to be taken to the website, or here.

The site is run by the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology which is a university consortium sponsored by the National Science Foundation in the US, dedicated to the operation of scientific facilities for the acquisition, management, and distribution of freely available seismic data. I’d highly recommend you pay their website a visit.
